Scana signs trawler propulsion contract
Scana Propulsion has signed a contract to deliver gear and cp-propeller system to Eshcol Fishing Company’s new pelagic trawler ‘Grateful’.
The vessel will be built at Karstensen Shipyard in Denmark and will be owned by the Whyte family based in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
Scana Propulsion says that it is proud to be selected as the propulsion system supplier to the vessel. The Whyte family currently operates the trawler Forever Grateful, delivered in 2001, which is also equipped with a Scana gearbox and propeller.
“Scana Propulsion has long traditions and solid competence in delivery of propulsion systems to the international fishing fleet”, says Hallvard Pettersen, managing director of Scana Volda. “We are delighted with this new contract, which we regard as a confirmation of our competitiveness and competence of tailor-made propulsion systems.”
The delivery from Scana Propulsion will take place in Q3 2016, and the vessel is scheduled for delivery from the shipyard in July 2017.
