IFFO appoints management board presidents

IFFO, the Marine Ingredients Organisation, has announced the names of its new president and vice president, effective from 1 January 2020.
Anne Mette Bæk will assume the position of president, taking over from Eduardo Goycoolea, whilst Gonzalo de Romaña will take on the vice president role.
Incoming president, Anne Mette Bæk, said she looked forward to taking on the role from the coming two years. "As the networking heart of the marine ingredients industry, IFFO is committed to championing the industry's best practices and being a driver for change worldwide," she said. "Fifty-two per cent of all marine ingredients are already certified as being responsibly sourced. I am convinced that the whole seafood supply chain can benefit from shared knowledge and expertise to bring our industry even further in this direction.”
Incoming vice president, Gonzalo de Romana, added that collaboration was vital for the long-term success of the industry. "IFFO acts as a platform representing the industry's contribution to achieve vital SDG goals pertaining to the protection of life below water, eradication of hunger and poverty and will continue to so,” he said.
Anne Mette Bæk is the executive director of Marine Ingredients Denmark representing the Danish fishmeal and fish oil industry. She also heads the international association of the European fishmeal and fish oil producers, EU Fishmeal. Anne Mette has been a member of the IFFO Board of directors since 2014.
