Canada funds scallop farming projects

Les Fermes marines du Québec, with Canada Economic Development's support, will launch the first sea scallop hatchery in the Gaspésie region.

Denis Lebel, minister of state for Canada Economic Development, has announced the awarding of CAD 700,000 (€502,887/$691,105) in repayable funding to Les Fermes marines du Québec for the construction of a hatchery for sea scallop larvae in the Gaspésie municipality of Chandler.
