In position from 17 September, Mr Lawler will provide general policy guidance on various aspects of NOAA\u2019s international fisheries work, such as sustainable management of fisheries, the protection of marine resources and supporting the export of U.S. fisheries products. He will also engage in high-level development and coordination of NOAA international fisheries policy and fisheries bilateral meetings with foreign nations.<\/p>\n

Lawler\u2019s career in international trade began 30 years ago when he launched the first of three magazines to help US companies grow their exports and global footprint. As publisher and CEO for these magazines, his business travels took him throughout Europe and Asia as he established networks for worldwide distribution.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Lawler was a publisher for a saltwater sportfishing magazine for 15 years, and he launched a saltwater fishing trade show that is now in its tenth year.
