{"id":7631,"date":"2014-09-26T13:43:19","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T12:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2014\/09\/26\/6th-icelandic-fisheries-awards-highlight-success\/"},"modified":"2014-09-26T13:43:19","modified_gmt":"2014-09-26T12:43:19","slug":"6th-icelandic-fisheries-awards-highlight-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/news\/6th-icelandic-fisheries-awards-highlight-success\/","title":{"rendered":"6th Icelandic Fisheries Awards highlight success"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>As part of the globally renown Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition (dubbed IceFish), and taking place on day one of the event which lasts until Saturday 27 September, the Awards evening has become synonymous with the venue; the beautiful Ger\u00f0arsafn Art gallery.<\/p>\n<p>The event commenced with a reception which provided excellent networking opportunities for all those who attended.<\/p>\n<p>The compere for the night was Logi Bergmann Ei\u00f0sson, news anchor for Iceland&#8217;s Channel 2 (St\u00f6\u00f0 2) and the awards were sponsored by Samskip, Landsbankinn, Vonin, Brammer Iceland and UK Trade and Investment. The IceFish Awards Ceremony celebrated outstanding successes achieved across all aspects of the commercial fisheries industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Icelandic Fisheries Awards were first introduced in 1999 to recognise and reward excellence in the Icelandic and international fishing industry, and the stature of this event has continued to grow and develop over the years. The hotly contested Awards are highly regarded and are now seen as an accolade with winners using their success to promote their company and products.<\/p>\n<p>The winners were selected by two judging panels spearheaded by the editor of Fiskifrettir, Gudjon Einarsson and World Fishing&#8217;s editor Carly Wills.
