This new partnership will see the companies carry out assessments of the sustainability of all seafood sources along with the creation of improvement projects to enhance environmental performance.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to ensure that all seafood sources for Lumar originate from approved, certified sources or from fisheries and farms engaged in improvement projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter having participated with the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership in some responsible fishing and sustainability forums we feel quite comfortable and confident that this is a solid partnership that will continue to improve Lumar\u2019s commitment to responsible and ethical sourcing at the highest level,\u201d said Albert o Romero Bermo, director of fisheries and sustainability, Lumar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited in developing this approach in Spain with a company like Lumar. Its international fishing knowledge and background together with big concerns about ecological sustainability of fisheries will allow both, ourselves and Lumar, to engage the whole supply chain in delivering real improvements,\u201d added Pedro Ferreiro, SFP.<\/p>\n<p>Lumar produces natural added-value seafood products as well as internationally-recognised innovative recipes and ready-to-eat meals.
