The company was founded in Akureyri in 2001 and moved its operations to Akranes two years later when it merged with the company \u00cdslenskt-Franskt eldh\u00fas.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition is a part of HB Grandi\u2019s focus on increased value creation from the company\u2019s harvesting rights. HB Grandi intends to create a path for its fully processed goods into the domestic market.<\/p>\n<p>There are 28 employees working for Nor\u00f0anfiskur. Its financial standing is sound, selling goods for ISK1,263m in 2013. It is assumed that the purchase will strengthen the company\u2019s operation even further.
