If everything works according to the plan, every fifteen seconds it will be scouring an area of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch the size of a football pitch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cM\u00f8renot delivers solutions to sustainably harvest the oceans and we are incredibly proud that Norwegian technology and competence plays an important part in the world\u2019s largest ocean cleanup,\u201d said M\u00f8renot CEO Arne Birkeland.<\/p>\n<p>The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organisation that develops advanced technologies to rid the world&#8217;s oceans of plastic by using river interception solutions and ocean cleanup systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOcean plastic pollution is an enormous environmental challenge that many of us have experienced firsthand this summer while visiting the beaches. All stakeholders must contribute in any way they can, with necessary competencies, technologies and regulations to sustainably protect ocean ecosystems.
