Running from 31 May to 6 June, the event will feature different species each day along with recipes, competitions and details of where to buy Welsh seafood. Helping raise awareness of the event are two projects dedicated to supporting Wales\u2019s seafood industry \u2013 Port to Plate and the Wales Seafood Cluster.<\/p>\n

“We’re fortunate in Wales to not only have a beautiful coastline, but have some of the finest quality seafood available,\u201d said seafood market development project manager at Port to Plate, Phil McGrath.<\/p>\n

\u201cWelsh Seafood Week aims to raise public awareness of the variety of seafood that can be found on our doorstep and celebrate all that is good within the seafood sector in Wales. Port to Plate hopes it can provide a boost to the industry\u202fafter a challenging period,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week there will be glimpses of the lives of those who catch and make a range of products using Welsh seafood. Among them are Atlantic Edge Oysters, Cardigan Bay Fish and Penaluna\u2019s Famous Fish & Chips.<\/p>\n

With the emphasis on buying local, people can discover producers in their area through an interactive map<\/a> and search for ideas using the hashtags #BwyM\u00f4rCymru, #WBMC2021, #WelshSeafood and #WSW2021.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
