{"id":5672,"date":"2013-10-23T18:18:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T17:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2013\/10\/23\/norwegian-fisheries-re-shuffle\/"},"modified":"2013-10-23T18:18:00","modified_gmt":"2013-10-23T17:18:00","slug":"norwegian-fisheries-re-shuffle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/fisheries\/norwegian-fisheries-re-shuffle\/","title":{"rendered":"Norwegian Fisheries re-shuffle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new government sees the formal dissolution of the current ministry for business and trade (N\u00e6rings- og handels- departementet) and the fisheries ministry (Fiskeri- and kyst- departementet).<\/p>\n<p>These ministries will be consolidated into a new ministry for both business and fisheries called N\u00e6rings- og fiskeridepartement, led by two ministers: Monica M\u00e6land, in charge of business and trade, and Elisabeth Aspaker, in charge of fisheries.<\/p>\n<p>New Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, said: \u201cFishing and other use of the seas are businesses for the future with lots of potential for value creation. Fishing has historically been an important industry for Norway. We want to make fishing and maritime businesses equally important for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Solberg added that the new ministry for business and fisheries will take on responsibility for competition and corporate laws that until now were part of the Justice Ministry.
