{"id":5504,"date":"2021-03-24T13:58:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-24T13:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2021\/03\/24\/norcod-secures-new-cod-farm\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:54:22","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:54:22","slug":"norcod-secures-new-cod-farm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/aquaculture\/norcod-secures-new-cod-farm\/","title":{"rendered":"Norcod secures new cod farm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Securing the site furthers the company\u2019s strategy to farm cod from the Tr\u00f8ndelag region in Mid-Norway and northwards along the coast.<\/p>\n<p>Norcod chief operating officer, Rune Eriksen, said that the expansion in Mel\u00f8y was a big step to meeting 2025 production targets. \u201cMel\u00f8y is a great location for us not only because of the ideal cold-water habitat for cod, but also because it is very close to our growth facility in Bod\u00f8,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Norcod has already recruited its first local intern for the Mel\u00f8y site and is in the process of hiring a further six people.
