{"id":5411,"date":"2013-07-09T10:55:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T09:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2013\/07\/09\/narong-seafood-to-remain-bap-certified\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:53:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:53:50","slug":"narong-seafood-to-remain-bap-certified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/seafood\/narong-seafood-to-remain-bap-certified\/","title":{"rendered":"Narong Seafood to remain BAP certified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A report by Warehouse Workers United and the International Labor Rights Forum made severe allegations about Narong Seafood, alleging that the company mistreated its workers.<\/p>\n<p>Two auditors inspected the plant in June and interviewed dozens of employees to attain first-hand knowledge of the working conditions, checked the company&#8217;s records back to January 2012 and gathered more than 300 pages of objective evidence.<\/p>\n<p>After more than 30 hours at the plant, the auditors found no evidence at the time of the audit substantiating the allegations made in the report. The auditors did find a number of non-conformities in the plant, but these have been described by the GAA as \u201cisolated instances rather than systematic problems\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Narong Seafood Co.
