{"id":5294,"date":"2013-05-29T11:34:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-29T10:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2013\/05\/29\/greenpeace-delivers-100000-strong-petition-to-brussels\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:52:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:52:58","slug":"greenpeace-delivers-100000-strong-petition-to-brussels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/industry-news\/greenpeace-delivers-100000-strong-petition-to-brussels\/","title":{"rendered":"Greenpeace delivers 100,000-strong petition to Brussels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They were delivered on Tuesday as the final round of CFP negations got underway.<\/p>\n<p>Greenpeace\u2019s ship <i>Arctic Sunrise<\/i> has been collecting the paper boat fleet (made up of 90,000 online vessels and 25,000 paper models) from nine different countries as part of a Europe-wide \u2018Gulliver tour\u2019 in support of small fishing boats.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting between EU fisheries ministers, the European Parliament and the Commission is expected to be one of the final joint meetings in the negotiating process which is attempting to reach a compromise deal on the new fisheries policy.<\/p>\n<p>Greenpeace and small-scale fishermen have been campaigning for months to ensure the new fisheries policy rewards low-impact fishing with a larger share of fishing quota and preferential access to fishing grounds.
