Present and previous vessels carrying the <em>Altaire<\/em> name have has been steady customers at Karstensens for maintenance and repair work for many years,\u201d said the yard\u2019s Kent Damgaard.<\/p>\n<p>The design, specification and arrangements of <em>Altaire <\/em>LK-429, which will be the yard\u2019s newbuild #468, are the result of extensive and close co-operation between owners and yard, with details tailored to meet the customer\u2019s requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The new <em>Altaire<\/em> will operate along the same pattern as the existing vessel. The focus has been on optimising catch quality and hygiene, as well as efficient operation and low emissions, and with the working environment, safety and comfort of the crew also in the spotlight during the design process.<\/p>\n<p>The 79.95 metre LOA by 16.60 metre beam <em>Altaire<\/em> will have a 7320kW W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 12V31 main engine driving a two-speed gearbox and a 4200mm diameter propeller. The twin 865kW auxiliary engines will also be W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 units. Thrusters will be supplied by Brunvoll and the deck equipment package is to be supplied by Karm\u00f8y Winch.<\/p>\n<p>The RSW system will be a double 1400kW installation and <em>Altaire<\/em> will have a double 4200 litre vacuum pump system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The latest in a series of Shetland fishing vessels to carry the Altaire name will be delivered by Karstensens Skibsv\u00e6rft in May 2023 to the Altaire Fishing Co Ltd.
