{"id":4315,"date":"2012-03-27T15:07:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-27T14:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2012\/03\/27\/hb-grandi-985-of-capelin-quota-caught\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:46:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:46:58","slug":"hb-grandi-985-of-capelin-quota-caught","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/industry-news\/hb-grandi-985-of-capelin-quota-caught\/","title":{"rendered":"HB Grandi: 98.5% of capelin quota caught"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Production came to an end at Vopnafj\u00f6rdur last week while at Akranes the last landings of capelin were enough to keep production going into the middle of this week.<br \/>Production of frozen capelin and capelin roe has gone extremely well during the season with around 10,000t of whole capelin frozen and approximately 4,000t of capelin roe.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vilhj\u00e1lmur Vilhj\u00e1lmsson, head of department at HB Grandi\u2019s pelagic division, this has been the best capelin season for many years as the excellent state of the capelin stock was enough to make a significant increase in capelin quota available compared to the previous year. After New Year, 57,000t of capelin were landed at Vopnafj\u00f6rdur, setting a record as the best year since capelin production began there.
