The new trawler will go into operation in the fishing grounds off the coast of West Africa.<\/p>\n
Ver\u00f3nica Alonso de los R\u00edos, marketing manager for the marine unit at SENER said to World Fishing<\/i>: \u201cThe contract has been very important as SENER is making a strong effort in the marine field in Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n
The project is a challenge for SENER because the trawler will incorporate a bottom and pelagic trawl and include processing plants, freezing and storage for both fishing procedures.<\/p>\n
When completed, the trawler will be 75 metres long. It will have processing equipment for a pelagic trawl of 10 tonnes per day and a bottom trawl of 120 tonnes per day.<\/p>\n
SENER already has customers using the FORAN System, the CAD\/CAM software that SENER develops for the design and production of ships, but this is its first engineering contract.<\/p>\n
Ms Alonso de los R\u00edos added: \u201cWith the signing of the first marine engineering contract in China, SENER takes a big step forward in its expansion in the Asia shipbuilding market, offering solutions that bring added value to the fishing industry, as well as to the industry as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n
