{"id":3614,"date":"2020-09-08T17:29:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-08T16:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2020\/09\/08\/vyborg-yard-delivers-first-atf-trawler\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:43:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:43:02","slug":"vyborg-yard-delivers-first-atf-trawler","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/vessels-shipyards\/vyborg-yard-delivers-first-atf-trawler\/","title":{"rendered":"Vyborg yard delivers first ATF trawler"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 86 metre, 17 metre breadth <em>Barents Sea<\/em> is the first of the new generation of catcher-processor vessels for the Russian fleet, built under the Russian government\u2019s investment quotas initiative that offers fishing companies incentives to invest in new capacity, conditional on building at Russian shipyards.<\/p>\n<p>The handover followed successful sea trials and full fishing and processing trials have yet to be carried out.<\/p>\n<p><em>Barents Sea<\/em> is the first modern groundfish trawler to be completed in Russia since the 1980s, and is to be followed by sister vessels <em>Norwegian Sea<\/em>, <em>White Sea<\/em> and a planned fourth vessel.<\/p>\n<p>The new vessels are single\/twin-riggers with processing capacity on board for producing frozen fillets and H&amp;G fish, as well as fishmeal, fish oil and canned liver and roe.<\/p>\n<p>Accommodation is for a crew of up to 49 in single and twin cabins, and accommodation areas are fitted out to a high standard, including with a gym and sauna.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first in a series of new trawlers for Arkhangelsk Trawl Fleet has been delivered by Vyborg Shipyard, [art of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
