{"id":3522,"date":"2020-08-10T12:11:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-10T11:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2020\/08\/10\/new-appointments-in-ssf-restructure\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:42:45","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:42:45","slug":"new-appointments-in-ssf-restructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/aquaculture\/new-appointments-in-ssf-restructure\/","title":{"rendered":"New appointments in SSF restructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The newly-created roles are part of a restructure aimed at helping Scottish Sea Farms set a new benchmark for sustainability in the sector and will see the company\u2019s three existing farming regions consolidated into two \u2013 the Northern Isles and mainland Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Scottish Sea Farms\u2019 managing director, Jim Gallagher said, \u201cWe will now have two farming regions of a similar size in terms of number of farms, each one overseen by its own dedicated degional manager \u2013 Innes Weir who joined us in December 2019 with responsibility for our farms on Scottish mainland, and Richard Darbyshire in his new Northern Isles role.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Darbyshire will divide his time between Orkney where he is based and Shetland and said it was a really exciting time for all marine farmers. \u201cOur new Barcaldine RAS Hatchery [is] producing significantly bigger smolts that require less time at sea.
