{"id":3490,"date":"2020-07-23T10:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T09:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2020\/07\/23\/funding-call-to-support-scottish-aquaculture\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T23:42:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T22:42:38","slug":"funding-call-to-support-scottish-aquaculture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/aquaculture\/funding-call-to-support-scottish-aquaculture\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding call to support Scottish aquaculture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The innovation centre is welcoming applications from collaborative partnerships between businesses and academic researchers to help the aquaculture sector adapt to a new commercial and operational reality in the months and years ahead.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe outbreak of Covid-19 has been a significant challenge to the entire economy and aquaculture is no different,\u201d said Sarah Riddle, director of business engagement at SAIC. \u201cOur new rapid-response funding call will support the sector through the months ahead, remaining open to allow for new projects and ideas as the situation evolves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA decision on each initiative will be made within 10 weeks of submission and we\u2019re particularly keen to hear from SMEs with ideas in the sector and supply chain,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>SAIC will provide a package of up to \u00a350,000 to successful applicants, with business partners expected to match or exceed this investment.
