Last year, IMS began shipping a new 6-ton RSW. This unit is for use on smaller vessels or to chill down fish before blast freezing. It measures 19″(w)x17″(h)x31″(l) and only uses 9 GPM of hydraulic flow.<\/p>\n
Frank Davi, a Bristol Bay fisherman for 20 years, purchased an IMS 6-ton RSW for the 2010 season. \u201cThe unit captured my eye\u2026it was affordable and provided plenty of refrigeration,\u201d he said. This is a family business for Frank that goes back generations. His great-grandfather and great-uncles starting fishing in 1905 or even earlier. According to Frank, \u201cIt\u2019s the money \u2013 coming home with money is the ultimate goal. I paid for the unit and made a profit in the first year.\u201d<\/p>\n
IMS introduced its third-generation 7.5-ton hydraulic system a the Expo. The unit has an easy-to-service drive system, and includes a 316 stainless steel circulation pump with an easy-access impeller. Due to the availability of new hydraulic pumps, this unit runs quieter than previous versions.<\/p>\n
Filling out its self-contained RSW line, IMS also introduced a new compact 10-ton hydraulic unit. Only 24″(w)x22″(h)x51″(l), the 10-ton RSW features a lightweight aluminium compressor and includes a 2″ stainless steel circulation pump and 1″ condenser pump.<\/p>\n
