Former Sysco Louisiana Seafood chairman, Jim Gossen, will remain as president joined by Raz Halili of Prestige Oysters as vice-president, Jennifer Jenkins of Crystal Seas Oysters as treasurer whilst Frank Randol, a seafood processer and owner of Randol\u2019s Restaurant, will take over as secretary<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important that our board is engaged and committed to the well-being of our Gulf of Mexico fisheries and fishermen,\u201d said Jim Gossen. \u201cI am confident that the current slate will continue this organisation\u2019s path to becoming one of the most influential voices for the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Gulf Seafood Foundation promotes interests vital to the economy of the Gulf, as well addressing environmental issues and actions that affect the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is humbling to be able to serve with such great seafood leaders,\u201d said Raz Halilii. \u201cOrganisations such as the Gulf Seafood Foundation are essential to the future of Gulf seafood. I look forward to my new position and I am committed to providing a helping hand.\u201d<\/p>\n
Frank Randol said that the new appointments offer depth and diversification and give the organisation feedback that spans the Gulf coastline from the water to the plate. \u201cWhen the need arises, the new board officers are committed to respond quickly and accurately to all issues affecting sustainable Gulf seafood, both positive and negative,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
