The vessels has a pair of Thyboron VF 15 flying trawl doors.<\/p>\n<p>Skipper Henning Kjeldsen owns one of the largest fishing companies in Denmark, Gitte Henning AS, which has five trawlers that are all equipped with different types of Thyboron Trawldoors.<\/p>\n<p>Success has also been reported by Jarle Valderhaug, skipper and owner of Atlantic Viking, who replaced his existing doors with specially designed 8.5m<sup>2<\/sup> VF 15 flying trawl doors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe VF 15 doors have been reinforced with Hardox knives bolted on the frontside of the keel. This means that I can choose to use the doors flying in the water or lower them to the bottom whenever there is need for that,\u201d says Mr Valderhaug.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe doors have proved to add great stability and spread when trawling. The stability means that the doors seldom fasten to the bottom. Therefore we see less damage on the nets.
