Owners MV Osprey of North Sidney, Nova Scotia ordered the new vessel, built at the Tersan shipyard in Turkey to Skipsteknisk ST-118 design, in November 2015 after intense design development with Skipsteknisk.<\/p>\n
Northern Osprey III <\/em>is the third vessel built by the Norwegian emigrant Ulf Snarby at MV Osprey based on ST-design. The first was the Northern Osprey<\/em> (1992) and the second was the newly sold Northern Eagle<\/em> (1996).<\/p>\n Northern Osprey III<\/em> has a length of 80,25m and a beam of 17m. The vessel is designed with a high ice-class for operation in challenging ice-conditions outside Newfoundland and Labrador. It is arranged with high standard accommodation for 38 persons which also includes facilities for the crew as media\/movie room, gymnasium and sauna.<\/p>\n The vessel is outfitted with a processing and freezing plant with a capacity of 125 tonnes per day.
