The main trawl winch is a model GF-170 15 tonne 4-drum winch and a pair of 3-tonne gilsen winches supports the main winch during scalloping operations.<\/p>\n
The winch company is also completing a winch and net drum package for a 21.5 metre twin-rig trawler being built at the Parkol Marine yard in Whitby for a North Lincolnshire fishing company. This package features a 20 tonne main winch, 10 tonne split net drums and various auxiliary winches, as well as a complete engine-room hydraulics package with wheelhouse controls, designed and supplied by North Sea Winches.<\/p>\n
In addition to the UK fishing industry, North Sea Winches designs and builds winches for fishing and marine applications worldwide. A good example of this is the model GM-170-PD 15 tonne purse-seine winch (see picture). This winch was supplied, along with a pair of 10 tonne net drums, for service in Fujian Province in China.<\/p>\n
