A range of products has been developed for each sector.

With a year of record landings in the UK, many vessels recording the highest grossing are using Xyrex® products to help them attain this.

David Milne skipper of “Adorne II”, along with his sister ship “Denebula” recorded the highest ever UK gross landing and says, “When I saw a shot of fish washed with Xyrex® at one of the buyer’s yards in Fraserburgh I could not believe how fresh the fish looked, despite hearing how many days old it was. I took Xyrex® on our boat shortly afterwards along with my partner vessel “Denebula” and the improvement in quality was stunning. To be honest I can’t see either of us ever going to sea without Xyrex® again.”

Kevin West of the Ryanwood is another record breaker who won’t go to sea without Xyrex® products onboard.

Success with Xyrex® has not just been limited to the UK, with a Faeroese vessel recording the highest ever price for herring landed in the Faroe Islands. Also, various vessels in Iceland using Xyrex® on their capelin have increased their catch value by up to 50% as the use of Xyrex® allowed them to sell more of their catch for human consumption than was otherwise possible.

Additive free

Xyrex® will be focussing closely this year on its product Prawn Fresh for the prevention of melanocis, allowing skippers and processors alike to increase their yields and ultimately their catch values. The product also allows the prawns to be sold as additive free and 100% natural with the best shelf life.

Graham Sutherland, Managing Director of Whitelink Seafoods says, “Our Fraserburgh factory has been working with XyRex® Prawn Fresh for more than a year and I’m extremely pleased with its performance. The elimination of hidden costs and damage to our factory associated with SMBS is an added bonus. The more boats supplying us with Prawn Fresh treated prawns the better, as we would be delighted to have all our prawns labelled as sulphite and additive free.”

XyRex® Ltd claims to be the first company in the fishing industry that can help achieve up to 20% increase in catch values by eliminating bacteria and increasing the performance of fish handling, storage and processing equipment to assist in delivering better quality fish and seafood with much greater shelf life.

[16
["post-10857","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-processing-refrigeration
["GET
