{"id":10378,"date":"2017-04-26T15:44:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-26T14:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldfishing.nfdtesting.uk\/icefish-conference\/2017\/04\/26\/nffo-calls-for-clarification-on-uk-fishing\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T00:17:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T23:17:57","slug":"nffo-calls-for-clarification-on-uk-fishing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.worldfishing.net\/icefish-conference\/news\/industry-news\/nffo-calls-for-clarification-on-uk-fishing\/","title":{"rendered":"NFFO calls for clarification on UK fishing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Urging political parties to declare their plans for the UK fishing industry ahead of the general election on 8th June, the <a href=\"http:\/\/nffo.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">NFFO<\/a> said that the UK fishing industry will be looking for manifesto commitments that include a future UK fisheries policy that is designed for and tailored to UK fleets.<\/p>\n<p>The NFFO said: \u201cIt is widely recognised that fishing has an iconic status, within the context of the UK\u2019s departure from the EU, mainly because of the shabby way our industry has been treated in the past. Brexit provides an opportunity to move swiftly away from the CFP and the slanted table that has worked to our severe disadvantage since 1973.
