New website for Crab Council

The NFI Crab Council’s new website - – has been launched to provide information and updates on the Council’s sustainability projects in Southeast Asia.

Crab Council Chairman Brendan Sweeny has described the website as a platform capable of educating all kinds of crab consumers about the Council’s sustainability mission from retail buyers down to family meal-makers.

“CommittedtoCrab has the design of both an approachable and technical website,” said Mr Sweeny. “To communicate the council’s purpose and narrative, the site features images and stories from the regions we work in as well as data and resources on Blue Swimming Crab fishery management.”

Containing information on council members, partners and projects, the NFI Crab Council website will promote its activities through news updates, blog posts, progress reports and an Instagram feed.

Jeremy Crawford, the Crab Council’s Asia Liaison, considers the website a central communication tool for the council’s fishery improvement efforts.

“An important component of any sustainability undertaking is transparency and public access,” said Mr Crawford. “CommittedtoCrab will be the home on the web for crab sustainability and make the projects we fund highly visible. We welcome visitors to our site and hope that the information available brings consumers one click closer to their product.”
