Handling plastic waste in the fishing sector
The event will especially concern itself with handling of plastic domestic waste and discarded fishing gear
An event focusing on practical experiences of preventing waste generated by the fishing industry from ending up in the sea will take place at the Europort 2017 exhibition.
The event, organised by the OSPAR Commission, will especially concern itself with handling of plastic domestic waste and discarded fishing gear onboard fishing vessels and in fishing harbours.
By bringing all stakeholders together in one workshop, OSPAR hopes that new ways of achieving better waste management and prevention can be usefully explored.
This workshop is aimed at all stakeholders interested or involved in waste management in the fishing sector. This includes the owners of fishing fleets and vessels, other representatives of the fishing industry and waste companies and fishing harbours.
The OSPAR Commission oversees the functioning of the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the North East Atlantic.
This OSPAR working session takes place on the last day of Europort 2017, Friday 10 November, at 1pm. Those interested can register by emailing: email@example.com
