Ervik & Sævik wins Environment Award
Ervik & Sævik AS won the 2012 Directorate of Fisheries Environment Award
Rita Christina Sævik, managing director of Ervik & Sævik AS was presented with the Directorate of Fisheries Environment Award at Nor-Fishing yesterday.
The Directorate this year wanted to honour one of the vessel owners who had a special focus on environmental concerns when building a new vessel.
The winner of this year’s award has shown great environmental responsibility by installing equipment that reduces the consumption of fuel and NOX emissions considerably.
There has been an emphasis on an environmentally friendly design, careful handling of the catch, and safety for the crew in the design of the fishing vessel Christina E, which was launched in 2011, director of fisheries, Liv Holmefjord said at the presentation reception.
The Award was presented by Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs Lisbeth Berg-Hansen.
The Directorate of Fisheries Environmental Award was established in 2007 and is presented annually at Nor-Fishing and Aqua Nor, respectively. Through the presentation of this award, the Directorate wishes to stimulate individuals, companies and organisations to take on greater environmental responsibility and thereby contribute to increasing sustainability in the industry.
