The environmentally friendly fire extinguisher

According to fire extinguisher manufacturer Thermax AS, there are several problems connected to the use of traditional fire extinguishers such as dry chemical models.

The company says that the level of contamination is well-known and can, in many cases, create more damage than is necessary.

Another problem lies in handling a traditional fire extinguisher - keeping the right distance and angle because of the high pressure makes the handling more difficult and demands skill of the user.

A Thermax Flamex Series fire extinguisher contains a PH neutral water based liquid which causes no harm to the environment or humans.

The Flamex series has received approval for Class A fires (paper, wood, textiles and fabrics) and comes in three sizes: 3, 6 and 9 litres.

According to the company, the Flamex series fire extinguishers are easy to handle. The specially designed nozzle spreads the agent in a wide angle which increase the extinguishing effect, as the agent also impregnates the surface to put out the fire. This reduces the chance of reigniting.

The operating pressure in these extinguishers is much lower than in conventional dry chemical fire extinguishers, which makes it easy to handle during the extinguishing process.
