DanFish Stand D800: Mekanord has introduced a new innovative hydraulic system on gearbox types 450HS, 500HS, 580HS and 650HS.

It is also scheduled that other Mekanord gearboxes will be equipped with the new hydraulic system.

The hydraulic system has been subject to comprehensive optimisation:

  • Optimised oil flow to and from the oil cooler
  • The thermostatic valve is built into the hydraulic block making it possible to fit pipes directly through SAE flanges
  • Optimised lubrication and cooling of bearings and gear wheels
  • Optimised control of lubricating oil pressure
  • Variable automatic oil pressure regulation depending on pitch control mode
  • Optimised lubricating oil filtration
  • Central location of hydraulic components in a newly developed hydraulic block mounted on the top of the gearbox. This gives a very reliable system, because the number of exterior pipe connections – and thereby the risk of leakages – is minimised

In addition to above mentioned advantages Mekanord says that customers will see that the new hydraulic system is very service friendly and environmentally friendly and, furthermore, reduces the fuel consumption of the propulsion engine and increases the efficiency of the CPP system.

Mekanord is a company in continuous development with a wide range of customers world-wide, and is specialised in the design and manufacturing of gearboxes to CPP systems in the power range 150-6,000kW to almost all types of smaller and middle size vessels.

Mekanord is also capable of supplying complete CPP packages including propeller, shaft and remote control system. The company also offers a wide range of service solutions and complete overhauls of both marine gearboxes and wind turbine gearboxes.
