Port of Grundarfjordur

The Port of Grundarfjordur is situated on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland.

It is a well-protected natural harbour with three piers. The harbour has good facilities and offers a wide range of quality services delivered with speed and efficiency. The port caters to the needs of seafarers by offering fresh water, electricity, ice, oil, pilotage, etc.

The harbour also has a fish market, loading service, ice factory, transport company, oil station, net-making factory, electronic technicians, mechanics and engineers, as well as other tradesmen such as carpenters and electricians.

Today the harbour's main marketing target is receiving large freezer trawlers. The harbour's most recent development is a new freezing warehouse, which is perfect for the needs of these vessels. It is capable of accommodating 3,000t of frozen produce and there are plans to double this capacity to 6,000t in the near future.
