Smoking kiln manufacturer, AFOS, is continuing its support to help the hard pressed smoked fish and food industry by extending its offer to provide cost effective kiln upgrades to customers.

The offer to refurbish older kilns and install the latest Siemens touch screen control units has met unprecedented demand since it was launched 18 months ago.

Recently AFOS has taken 15 orders for upgrades as customers take advantage of the cost effective solution to bring their machines in line with the latest technology demanded by supermarket buyers.

AFOS Sales Director Peter Martin said: “We recognise that many of our loyal customers are going through a difficult period of cost pressure and we have developed this new initiative to ensure they remain competitive at a much reduced cost than investing in new kilns.”

Among customers taking advantage of the upgrades is Australia’s biggest producer of farmed salmon who has had five kilns refurbished and upgraded in addition to buying two new six trolley capacity kilns.

At SPE AFOS will also be promoting it range of smaller kilns, which are fitted with Siemens touch screen control panels, and will have a mini kiln on display.
